Want to send yourself a letter on our blog?

Here are the basic guidelines:

  1. Read a few letters to get familiar with our style. We like honesty, gentleness, and pointing to our hope and transformation in Christ. We don’t like preaching, pride, or condemnation. Your former self (and our readers) should walk away feeling inspired and loved, with a real sense of God’s power to change us for our good and His purpose.
  2. Pray about what God is leading you to write. He has hearts He wants to touch through the work He has done in you, and He will guide you as you select which “you” to write to, and which words to use. You need not be eloquent, just authentic.
  3. Keep your letter to one main subject, instead of a long list of general advice. Avoid explaining too much; after all, this is a letter to you, and she doesn’t need the exposition. Keep it to 1,000 words or less.
  4. In the subject line of your email, indicate “SUBMISSION”, followed by basic descriptions of who you are and to whom you are writing. For example, “SUBMISSION: From a Mother of a Teenager to the Mother of a Newborn”.
  5. You can keep your letter anonymous, or you can sign your name – just let us know which you would prefer. If you would like to include a byline for your letter, there is a 40-word limit.
  6. If you have more than one letter to share, you are welcome to submit them.
  7. If your submission is for The Sexoneration Project, please indicate it in your email or subject line.
  8. Send your letter to submissions@verses3to5.com.

By submitting your letter to Verses 3 to 5, you are indicating you understand that it may be published on our website, social media, and other publications or forums related to Verses 3 to 5. If your letter is selected to be posted on our site, it may be edited for content or length.

Thank you!
